It seems unbelievable that the day before my dad's 80th birthday I had a call from the consultant saying dad's tumour had grown back bigger than it had been when he had it removed a month ago. I had to tell my dad that there was nothing more they could do for him. It was such a difficult day to celebrate his 80th birthday but so important to do. Dad was so brave and I feel so proud of him for coming to our house, accepting his gifts and blowing out the candles on his cake. It will give us memories of him that will never be forgotten and I am sure he realised this.
